Electricity is an essential commodity in remote healthcare facilities. Recent improvements in the distribution of vaccines and other cold chain-dependent supplies, as well as the global push to deliver antiretroviral drugs and services to HIV-positive patients worldwide, have introduced new demands for electricity in sites with little or no access to reliable electrical power.
Our rural health care facility experiences challenges on a daily basis. If the cold chain is inoperable when supplies arrive, medicines may go to waste. Also, patients arriving at night must wait until morning to receive care.
Please help us provide an appropriate source of reliable and sustainable energy to mitigate the challenges we face in operating The Omer Yembe Memorial Medical Center.
